More Information The New York Times called ultrarunner Diane Van Deren a "medical miracle". Diane spent 10 years racked by debilitating epilepsy, until risky and radical brain surgery gave her a seizure-free life. A long-time athlete with a uniquely competitive spirit, Diane has been driven to win grueling events like the 2009 Yukon Arctic Ultra, a 430-mile foot race across a frozen wilderness. In May 2012, she shattered the speed record for North Carolina's Mountains to Sea Trail, running its 1000 miles in an amazing 22 days.
VIP reception will be held at AFI Silver Theatre, 3rd floor, and will benefit Potomac Conservancy. Many thanks to our sponsor, Hudson Trail Outfitters!
